  4. Outlook will ask you whether you want to save contacts from Exchange to your iCloud account. Confirm the action.
  5. Allow the app to access your contacts list.

You do not need to transfer contacts from Exchange to iCloud manually. Your phone will do all the job for you. Also, with the Save Contacts toggle enabled, all new contacts in Exchange will automatically appear in your iCloud account.

It is important to note that you should avoid enabling this setting on all devices. For example, if you have an iPhone and iPad, turn on contacts saving just on iPhone. This action will prevent contact duplication in your iCloud.

When googling how to move contacts from Exchange to iCloud, you may stumble upon third-party software for Mac or PC specializing in such tasks. Although third-party apps for moving contacts between different services work quite well, we do not recommend using them due to privacy concerns. Move Contacts from Exchange to iCloud

You can consider another option if you do not use the Outlook app or don’t want to use it. Simply put, you need to log in with your Exchange account into iOS’s settings and enable contact sync. Also, you can use the same guide to move contacts from Gmail to iCloud. Here is how you can do this:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings – Contacts.
  2. Tap Accounts. If there is no Exchange account, you need to add it.
  3. Tap Add Account. On the next screen, select Microsoft Exchange and enter your credentials.
  4. After your iPhone has successfully logged in with your Microsoft Exchange account, select the items you want to sync. Make sure to enable the Contacts toggle.
  5. Now, go to your iCloud settings and check whether you have Contacts sync enabled. If not, turn it on, so iOS can sync all the available contacts, including those from Exchange, to your iCloud account.

Done. You successfully finished copying contacts from Exchange to iCloud. Now, you can remove your Exchange Account and leave contacts on your iPhone. To do so, go to Settings – Contacts – Accounts. Tap the Exchange account and then press Delete Account. Using the same guide, you can move contacts from Gmail to iCloud. Just sign in with the respective service in the Settings.

Import Gmail Contacts To Icloud

While you can sync both Gmail and iCloud contacts to one iPhone, copying Gmail contacts to iCloud was until now only possible via exporting the Gmail contacts to a vCard file on a computer and then manually importing the contacts to iCloud. Using the latest version of CopyTrans Contacts, you can now easily copy contacts from a Gmail account to iCloud in just a few clicks.

Here’s how to copy Gmail contacts to iCloud

Sync Gmail Contacts To Icloud

  1. Download CopyTrans Contacts from the following page:

  3. Run CopyTrans Contacts and connect the iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

  4. You would fist need to connect both the Gmail and iCloud accounts with CopyTrans Contacts. To do so, go to “More > Cloud setup”

  5. Click “+ New connection” and select “Gmail”

  6. Enter your Gmail account credentials, and give the connection a name, for example “Gmail account”. Make sure that the “Contacts” box is checked and click “Add account”

  7. Now connect the iCloud account by clicking “+ New connection > iCloud”

  8. Enter your iCloud account credentials, make sure the box next to “Contacts” is checked and click “Add account”

  9. Close the Cloud setup window and let your iPhone data load fully. You can now see both your Gmail and iCloud contacts in CopyTrans Contacts’ main program window. The Gmail contacts will be marked with a small envelope icon, while the iCloud contacts will be designated with a small cloud icon

  10. To copy the Gmail contacts to iCloud, simply select the respective contacts, right click and choose “Copy to…”. Then select the iCloud account.

    NOTE: By selecting “Copy to… > iCloud account” you will essentially copy the selected Gmail contacts to iCloud. The copied contacts are kept in the Gmail account. You can instead choose “Move to… > iCloud account” which transfers the selected contacts to iCloud and deletes the original entries from the Gmail account

  11. All selected Gmail contacts are now copied to iCloud. You can verify this by the small cloud icon which now appears next to the copied contact entries

  12. If you enabled Gmail contact sync on the iPhone, you can avoid the same contact from being shown twice on the device by disabling the Gmail contact sync. To do so, on the iPhone, navigate to “Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and tap the Gmail account which you use to sync contacts

  13. Place the Contacts slider switch from ON to OFF and tap “Delete from My iPhone”. Make sure you have all of your Gmail contacts loaded up in iCloud before tapping “Delete”

  14. Finally, if you no longer wish to have the Gmail contacts listed in CopyTrans Contacts, navigate to “More > Cloud setup”

    Select the Gmail account, uncheck the box next to “Contacts”, and click “Apply”.

    After you restart CopyTrans Contacts you will only see the iCloud contacts
